Personal Data

In conformity with French law, the Opquast site has been declared to the CNIL and has been registered at No1029633.

The CNIL (Commission Nationale Informatique et Libertés) is an independent French administrative authority whose mission is to ensure that the 1978 French law relative to computerized data privacy is respected. This law obliges everyone involved in information technology and who have computerized file to allow access for consultation, modification, correction or suppression of all collected personal data. By declaring the Opquast site to the CNIL, Temesis (registered company) has committed to respecting the law in the following way:

Newsletter

Opquast edits a newsletter. The newsletter makes it possible to send email to people who want to receive it, in order to kep them up to date with the evolutions and progress of the Opquast.org and Opquast.com websites. The only data that we need to be able to provide this service is your email. In conformity with French law no78-17 January 6th 1978 you can subscribe, delete or rectify your subscription when you want through the on-line forms on the Newsletter page. We will undertake to back-up and save that data, which under no circumstance will be transmitted or sold to a third party.

Public information.

If you post to a forum or public area of the site, it is possible ot leave your email so that other people can reply to you without going through the forum. In this case it is important to state that this information become public and can be accessed over the Internet. We can therefore not guarantee the confidentiality of information which has passed into the public domain in this way.

For your information this risk exists whenever you leave personal information in a public space. Some robots are able to detect email addresses on public web sites, the then ?harvest? these emails and can use them for non solicited mailings.

Cookies

The opquast.com and opquast.org websites do on occasion make use of cookies (small text files.) in order to improve your navigation. For example cookies can be used to store data that you enter into a form so that you don't have to enter it again at a later date.

Traces.

Navigation on the Internet is only partially anonymous. In effect, every machine on the network has a unique IP address. When you connect to a server it registers your and can identify where you are coming from. (.fr,.net,.be, etc...) Also the paths you followed on the site, the files that you requested, and the links that brought you to the site can be identified. This information is written to a file (log) which centralizes all the connections to the server. Using this the audience measurement that we carry out using the Xiti markers enables use to gather information on your activity in the site.

We only use this data in order to analyze the site statistics, identify files that couldn't be loaded, files that generated user interest and those that did not. We also analyze referencing of the site in the main search engines and directories for the links that lead to Opquast. The aim of all this is not to monitor your usage and hen bombard you with marketing proposals, but to manage the quality of the site, to detect functioning problems and measure the audience for our partners. Our aim is to use the data o improve the site and to understand and if possible increase visit frequency.
